I believe in being a heartfelt, involved educator. Children’s attitudes and life trajectory are highly influenced by their teachers. I’m eager for opportunities to BE a person who makes a positive difference! Being a role model is a huge responsibility yielding in precious rewards. Children are everyone’s future, and efforts towards building a growth mindset are positively exponential!

My formal training began as an Educator in Delaware, where I built a home and taught my four children. When my children went to public school, I completed my AA in Early Childhood Education at DTCC Child Development Center. As I studied, I worked as a Paraprofessional for a 9th grade visually impaired program, 3rd grade intensive learning class and substituting in elementary schools. My learning experiences were so enriching, I continued my learning, obtaining a BA Elementary Education from Wilmington University!

A private school in Smithtown, NY, invited me to teach for 3 years, 4- & 5-year-old children as a Lead Teacher. This was a joy, as it was in my hometown area! I earned my Directorship Certification in ECE. Then, an opportunity arose to teach 5th grade in Volusia & Kindergarten in Flagler Counties, FL. By this time, I was working on my ESOL/ELL endorsement, currently completed.
During the next 12 years, I developed my teaching abilities in Pinellas County Public & Private Schools while earning my MA in Elementary Education, Math/Science emphasis, at USFSP. With a growth mindset for Education Leadership, I also earned graduate credits at USFSM.

Now, I live in Alabama with my husband Mr. Blizard. We renovated a home, (my oldest son Timothy helped us), & operate the ACE Hardware Store in Stevenson. My 4 children are now grown up and have given us 3 grandchildren! One girl & 2 twin boys! We also have 3 dogs, 3 chickens, lots of bees, & a cat! I like to garden & am learning canning with my mother-in-law, “Momma Janice”.

It is my honor to teach First Grade in my third-year teaching at Jasper Elementary! We will have lots of FUN moments learning together in an uplifting, safe & caring environment!
