Patricia Blizard
Pre-K
I believe in being a passionate, involved educator. It has the power to change a whole person’s attitude and life trajectory. My heart leaps at opportunities to BE that person who makes a positive difference for children! Being a role model is a huge responsibility that comes many rewards. Children are our future and the results of involved learning are positively exponential!
My formal training began as an Educator in Delaware, where I built a home and taught my four children. When my children went to public school, I completed my AA in Early Childhood Education at DTCC Child Development Center. As I studied, I worked as a Paraprofessional for 9th grade, 3rd grade and substituting in elementary schools. My learning experiences were so enriching, I continued my learning and obtained a BA Elementary Education from Wilmington University!
A private school in Smithtown, NY, invited me to teach for 3 years, 4 & 5 year old children as a Lead Teacher. This was a joy, as it was in my home town area! Then, an opportunity arose to teach 5th grade in Volusia & Kindergarten in Flagler Counties, FL. By this time, I was working on my ESOL/ELL endorsement.
During the next 12 years, I developed my teaching abilities in Pinellas County Public & Private Schools while earning my MA in Elementary Education, Math/Science emphasis, at USFSP. Thinking about entering into Education Leadership, I earned graduate credits at USFSM.
Now, I live in AL with my husband Mr. Blizard. We are renovating a home and operating the ACE Hardware Store in Stevenson. My children are grown up and have given us 3 grandchildren! We also have a puppy, a dog, 4 chickens, lots of bees, 2 parakeets & kitty cat!
It is my honor to begin my second year teaching Pre-K at Jasper Elem with the amazing Mrs. Makeisha! We will have so much FUN learning together in a positive, safe & caring environment!
