Jennie Turrell

About Me:

Greetings from the JES Art Room - a place where students draw outside the lines, see mistakes as opportunities, and discover new ways to see the world around them.

While at JES, Ms. Turrell has worked to integrate the arts across the curriculum through an Arts360 grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. You can follow this program and other art activities on Facebook @JasperElementaryArt.  There you can also find stories of the adventures of Art the Alligator, our classroom mascot.

Ms. Turrell earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of the South, studied graphic design at the University of Georgia, and earned an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before joining the faculty at JES, Ms. Turrell taught visual art at Franklin County High School for 7 years. She has been a member of the faculty at Jasper Elementary School since 2017.

In her free time, Ms. Turrell writes and illustrates children’s books.
